The task of the church planter, as Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 3:6, is to plant the seeds of God's Word (evangelism) and water them (discipleship). Then God takes the responsibility to make the seeds produce and increase. "How can they believe in the one in whom they have not heard?" Paul asked. "And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" (Romans 10:14)

Church
planting begins with evangelism -- the preaching of God's Word. This
gospel can be shared to the business people in metropolitan cities, to
the homeless and destitute in the streets, and to the families in remote
villages who are cut off from the rest of the world and from the Gospel.
Remember the Great Commission says to "Go into all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15 ) |
